Lord Jesus Christ,
I consecrate myself today anew
and without reserve to Your Divine Heart.
I consecrate to You my body with all its senses,
my soul with all its faculties,
my entire being.
I consecrate to You all my thoughts,
words and deeds,
all my sufferings and labors,
all my hopes, consolations and joys.
God our Father,
in Your wisdom and love You made all things.
Bless these men,
that they may be strengthened as Christian fathers.
Let the example of their faith and love shine forth.
Grant that we, their sons and daughters,
may honor them always
with a spirit of profound respect.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
I place my trust in You without reserve
and I hope for the remission of my sins
through Your infinite mercy.
I place within Your hands all my cares and anxieties.
I promise to love You and to honor You
until the last moment of my life,
and to spread, as much as I can,
devotion to Your most Sacred Heart.
My soul,
my Jesus loves you ardently.
Hope for great favors from the Lord,
Who, through an impulse of love,
comes to you all love.
Yes, my Jesus, my hope,
I trust in Your goodness,
that in giving Yourself to me this morning,
You will kindle in my poor soul
the flames of Your pure love,
and of an ardent desire to please You,
Lord of patience and kindness –
You share in my ups and downs of recovery.
I believe in Your healing mercy,
and in the restoring energies of nature
You have put in my body and spirit.
I see the signs of Your healing love in me,
and joy surges in my heart.
I tell You aloud my thanksgiving
and smile my trust in You.
O my God!
I love You,
with my whole heart and soul,
and above all things,
because You are infinitely good and perfect,
and most worthy of all my love;
and for Your sake,
I love my neighbor as myself.
Mercifully grant,
O my God!
that having loved You on earth,
I may love and enjoy You
forever in heaven.
Amen.
O my God, I thank you and I praise
you for accomplishing your holy
and all-lovable will without any regard for mine.
With my whole heart,
in spite of my heart,
do I receive this cross I feared so much!
O Lord,
You have mercy on all,
take away from me my sins,
and mercifully set me ablaze
with the fire of Your Holy Spirit.
Take away from me the heart of stone,
and give me a human heart,
a heart to love and adore You,
a heart to delight in You,
to follow and enjoy You.
Amen.
In mid-January 2018, I spent a few days with our Columban missionaries in the parish of Badin, Pakistan, before attending a meeting of our Columban missionaries living and working in Pakistan. Badin is in the interior Sindh Province and is served by Columban Frs. Tony Cavanagh and Dan O'Connor. The Sunday liturgy reminded me much of Masses I myself said over many years in Fiji.
I offer You, Lord, my thoughts;
to be fixed on You;
my words: to have You for their theme;
my actions: to reflect my love for You;
my sufferings: to be endured for Your greater glory.
I want to do what You ask of me:
in the way You ask, because You asked.
