As he lies in his sick bed, Columban Fr. Frank recalls some of his mission outreach:
The first time I went to the leper colony, I traveled with (the late) Columban Fr. Bob Sweeney. Fr. Bob would go anywhere! When we went into the leper colony, I was afraid. A man with leprosy came up to me and extended his hand for a handshake. I did not shake his hand; I certainly did not want to get leprosy.
It took that embarrassing beginning to overcome my fear. With strength from God, I continued to visit and befriend the people with leprosy in Korea for many more years.
